On-site Touch Screen Voting
TrueBallot, Inc. offers TouchVOTE®, its automated on site registration and tallying election system. TouchVOTE is a direct electronic voting system designed to be used on site for conventions, meetings or for precinct voting. The system is computer touch screen driven but can also be operated with a mouse or by voice commands. With a database of eligible voters, TrueBallot generates an individual visual ballot for each voter After gaining electronic access to the system, the voter's individualized ballot is shown to him on a computer monitor. Each voter is shown only those issues on which he or she is entitled to vote. After being shown the ballot on the computer screen, the voter fills out the ballot by touching the screen. The screen allows the voter to fill the ballot out only according to the organization's rules. All of the rules can be preprogrammed to prevent void or invalid ballots. The voter is able to review and alter his ballot until it is completed and the voter indicates on the touch screen that he is finished. When the voter indicates that he is finished, the station "commits" the vote, and the station resets itself for entry of another valid voter. All voters and votes are written to separate, unrelated databases on unalterable storage media. This process assures both the secrecy of each ballot and the protection of the ballot results. Once the ballot is cast, it cannot be altered and cannot be traced to the voter. Since the ballot is electronically cast, there are no void ballots, and tabulation is 100% accurate. As an independent impartial balloting agency, TrueBallot ensures the accuracy, safety, reliability and confidentiality of organizational voting. TrueBallot offers an integrated approach to voting, by offering any combination of traditional and electronic balloting methods. |
